Day 7--Trains!

We had a good time at the game last night. Some guy gave us some free tickets outside of the gate and we sat right at third base. Really good seats and a nice little stadium. Lots of families, not too expensive, no rowdy folks, just good, clean fun.

This morning we headed out to Strasburg to see trains. This little town is home to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.

Inside are a LOT of restored trains, train cars, engines, equipment and the like. The place is absolutely huge. Lots of really neat stuff.

Some of them are open and you can go in and look around. Marcia wasn't up to the stairs and I tweaked my ankle on the stairs at the stadium last night so I didn't want to risk it either. We've been in a lot of trains (including restored ones) so we didn't feel like we were missing out.

Then you can go out back and see the ones they still have to restore and add to the collection.

Walking across the street, we got on the noon train ride---45 minutes into the countryside. I guess I never realized how much corn was grown in Pennsylvania. Lots of fat happy cows and some horses were also seen. We saw our first horse drawn buggies today too.

I took a wrong turn coming out of Strasburg and missed the main road, but I was running parallel to where I should have been. These roads can be confusing. We stopped for lunch and then right down the road there was a putt-putt course. I beat Marcia soundly by 9 strokes, shooting 2 under par. It might be time to get the golf clubs out and start practicing again. Marcia has challenged me to another round later.

Back to the hotel and about 430 we lost power. Turns out it was throughout most of town. At 630 we still didn't have power so called a restaurant to find out if they had power. They did, so we went to eat. Came back to the hotel and no power. So we had to CLIMB 3 flights of stairs. As soon as we got to the door of our room, the power came on. What timing! We just started laughing.
